Esk Shooters Union Shooting Range - Now OPEN!

Shooters Union is proud to announce the opening of the Esk Shooters Union Shooting range, located in the Brisbane Valley region of Queensland!

The range officially opened on Saturday April 11, with Somerset Regional Council Mayor, Jason Wendt cutting the ribbon and Esk Shooters Union Member, Keith Pratt having the honour of firing the first shot on the newly opened range, using a 1906 Bayard 12ga side-by-side black powder shotgun.

The Esk Shooters Union range is a 200m rifle, pistol and shotgun range, and we cannot overstate just how much work the Esk Shooters Union team, lead by president Michael Jess, have put into this range, with the full support of Shooters Union Queensland.

The initial process began in 2020, so it has been a long, but extremely worthwhile endeavour.

We'd also like to acknowledge the enthusiastic support of Somerset Regional Council, who approved the necessary development applications for the range and have been closely involved in the project, fully realising the benefits it provides to the area. We also greatly appreciate the professional and helpful assistance from Queensland Police Weapons Licencing Group, particularly with regards to range inspections, templates, approvals and related sign-offs.

In a time when shooting ranges are closing down or facing ever-increasing operation restrictions limiting what they can do, Shooters Union is proud to be going against the tide and we are honoured to have so many passionate members who have truly gone above and beyond to make a positive difference for shooting in their region.

The Esk Shooters Union range is located of Esk-Hampton Rd, Esk. This range is open to all Shooters Union Members, please contact them for match events and more. For more information and details make sure you like their Facebook page. Their email address is: [email protected]
